Origin of the seeds

For our oil, we use high-quality organic black cumin seeds (Nigella sativa) from Egypt. This region has been considered the origin of particularly aromatic black cumin quality for centuries. The plants grow in the dry, sun-drenched landscape of the Arabian desert – in fertile oases where organic smallholders traditionally cultivate black cumin. The intense climate and mineral-rich soils give the seeds their characteristic aroma and their natural content of valuable plant compounds such as thymoquinone.
